On Rudolf Steiner’s prediction of the Third World War and its Spiritual Background

‘Wherever love and compassion are active in life, we can perceive the magic breath of the spirit blowing through the sense world.” ~Rudolf Steiner

World History in its Making

What we are seeing now is going to change the world for all time. Materialism in the West is on the decline and the Czarism of the East is likewise going to disappear, and this last is what the current war is about. Between the East and West, we have Europe, and it has been split between these two paradigms, but now it has begun its fight for the independence of these two world views. Steiner describes the three in this way:

“The religious impulses of the particular ethnic groups will contribute in their different ways to an understanding of this tripartite division of man.

  • The East and the Russian people to the understanding of the spirit;
  • The West to an understanding of the body;
  • Central Europe to an understanding of the soul.

But all these impulses are interwoven of course.” ~From GA 185

In the following, I will look at Steiner’s prediction of a potential WW between the USA on one side and Russia and China on the other, and on USA’s first Pluto return and its connection with the prediction, and Steiner’s description of the background on the polarity between Russia and America, and between Czarism and the Soul of the Slavs. Steiner on Czarism versus the Russian folk soul:

“Czarism and Russianism have always been strangers to each other, they never had anything in common. Those who understand the Russian nature, especially its piety, must have found the attitude to the elimination of Czarism as something self-evident when the time was ripe.” See From Symptom to Reality in Modern History.

I made a horoscope for 2020 in March that year, seen from an astrological, esoteric, and karmic historic view, and it was maybe the most impressive horoscope in 2000 years, it was about the end of American materialism. I predicted that Trump would lose, but still try to keep the power, but would fail in the attempt. Three times before the same happened in Rome, France and Germany, but this time without success: Horoscope for 2020.

I looked into the many texts on the Return of Christ and the resistance the opposition would present us with, and my conclusion was that 2020 was the crucial year where we would show if we had understood our curriculum, and we had.

Greatest Potential for Violence

As a result of the return of Christ I began looking at the three major cultures where people have difficulties becoming free on their own, where the potential for violence is greatest, and that is Russia, China, and the Islamic world, so I expected that we would see confrontations in one way or the other in the coming sunspot (See Steiner on Sunspots) period, but in a lesser scale than in the previous periods, as the potential for evil is weaker now than in many many years.

I have followed how Russia and China have increased their military involvement in recent times, especially China has increased the pressure on neighboring countries, such as India Nepal, and especially Taiwan, just as they torment their minorities, such as the Tibetans whose monasteries and shrines they destroy.

The Return of Christ

We are living under the return of Christ, it’s not just something abstract, the spiritual world is full of light. See: Steiner’s description on what happens now.

The coronavirus created a gap between the etheric and physical body, making people more perceptible to the spiritual and less inclined to act out of the physical, less inclined to create karma. Steiner has described it with Goethe and in connection with the smallpox vaccine, and I have written about it in more groups and in my 2020 astrological prediction. Many spiritual people have experienced this separation. Materialists are less motivated to manifest their will in the physical world, golf may be more interesting than winning an election. See Horoscope for 2020.

It seems that the Russian soldiers are disillusioned, that they even disobey orders when ordered to shoot at villages with civilians. Many soldiers thought it was an exercise other was told the Ukrainians welcomed them with roses, but they were stopped by civilians who stood in front of their vehicles or they were shot at in combat.

The world has become magical, it may mean that war becomes near impossible in the future when all are permeated by the etheric, with Christ. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I think we are out for some surprises. I expected some miracles in Ukraine, but the reality has surpassed my expectations, and I think everyone’s expectations.

Steiner’s Predictions

I had started looking at the horoscope for 2022 as there seemed to be something relevant for the tensions at the Ukrainian border. Under this work I was made aware that Steiner had warned about a new world war between USA On one side and Russia and China on the other side if we hadn’t solved the problem of materialism (Ahrimanic) through the twentieth century.

If the west hadn’t incorporated the spiritual in its thinking, so we could meet the east through the spiritual, we would end in a world war again. 2020 was the test, if materialism had won we would have had Trump as commander in chief for the American military forces today.

One of the biggest problems is that people react against the ruling classes, and this will be the trigger for the rulers to start the war, following Steiner, but because the underlying evil has been weakened through the twentieth century there is no will for war, humanity had learned of their pain.

Steiner on the War

The Second World War [Third, see *1 below] which will be fought between Asia and America — along with what is between them — is absolutely necessary to happen and the reasons for this will be economic. You must be hearing the calls of the lower classes for a world revolution — the only way to obscure and hide this idea of a world revolution would be to ignite the catastrophe of another World War. It just has no alternative.” ~The Course for Speakers to Promote the Idea of Threefolding CW 338. Lecture 12, Jan 2, 1921

The main opponent will be China, even though it looks like it is Russia now. China is building silos for atomic missiles all over the country, and they create artificial islands in the Chinese Sea on other countries’ territory, where they place their military, and they move into the Indian Ocean too. They prepare for war.

Steiner on China:

The real opposition (Gegensatz) is not between America and Russia — it is only apparently so. The real clash will be between China and America. And the question is whether it will be fought in Europe or in the Pacific. Europe can only hope that this will happen in the Pacific area.” Koberwitz in June 1924 Rudolf Steiner – I can’t find the original.

Steiner’s goal was to spread the spiritual way of thinking out to all of humanity so the world became one, as it would hinder the devastating World War, and he succeeded, he coined the phrase New Age and this is shared between all of humanity, making it possible for all of humanity to speak in a shared language. The old tribe or national cultures are destroyed everywhere through materialism, most visible in Mao’s cultural war, in the USA have Hollywood and it’s entertainment industry done the same on world scale.

Steiner on the Background and How not to End in a Devastating War:

Let there be no mistake about it — so long as the dealings of Europeans and Americans with Asia are confined to purely economic and industrial interests, so long will there be distrust in the hearts of Asiatics. People may talk as much as they like about disarmament, about the desirability of ending wars. …A great war will break out between the East and the West, in spite of all disarmament conferences, if the people of Asia cannot perceive something that flows over to them from the Spirit of the West.

Western spirituality can spread over to Asia and if it does, Asia will be able to trust it, because with their own inherent, though somewhat decadent spirituality, the Asiatic peoples will be able to understand what it means. The peace of the world depends upon this, not upon the conversations and discussions now going on among the leaders of outer civilisation. …

Everything depends upon insight into the Spirit that is lying hidden in European and American culture — the Spirit from which men flee, which for the sake of ease they would fain avoid, but which alone can set the feet of humanity on the path of ascent.

People like to put their heads in the sand, saying that things will improve of themselves. No, they will not. The hour of a great decision has struck. Either men will resolve to bring forth the spirituality of which I have spoken, or the decline of the West is inevitable. Hopes and fatalistic longings for things to right themselves are of no avail.

Once and forever, man has passed into the epoch when he must manipulate his powers out of his own freewill. In other words: it is for men themselves to decide for or against spirituality. If the decision is positive, progress will be possible; if not, the doom of the West is sealed and in the wake of dire catastrophes the further evolution of humanity will take a course undreamed of today. Those who would strive for true insight into these matters should not, nay dare not, neglect the study of the life of soul in mankind at large, and in the different peoples, especially of East and West.” ~Cosmic Forces in Man, Lecture 1, Oslo, November 24, 1921 ga209, https://rsarchive.org/Lectures/19211124p01.html

Evil is Cyclic – or like a Pendulum

Steiner told also how the sunspots visualized the strength of evil, and all wars started at the spikes, and ended in the valleys, no exceptions in the twentieth century! See Sunspots and evil activity

In the twentieth century the amount of evil was immensely high, causing WW1 and 2 and especially the Vietnam war, but from the Vietnam War and forward evil began to dwindle, so the will to kill is little today, and our attention on war is more focused today. Humanity transformed evil to wisdom and pain to love.

Evil is cyclic, it’s like flood and ebb, and now it’s flood, but the maximal possible watermark isn’t very high. The activity of evil has been increasing toward a local maximum since 2020, so something is brewing, but it will be weaker than it was at the top at the previous maxima.

On April 12th Jupiter meets Neptune

On April 12th Jupiter meets Neptune in their home in Pisces, and the last time that took place was in 1856 when the Crimea peace was signed. It was of course at the bottom of a sunspot as wars end in valleys, and as evil is increasing now it may dampen evil or there may come a temporary peace agreement.

Added May 27: after April 12 the world began helping Ukraine with heavy weapons, and the EU began talking about starting the process for Ukraine to become a member.

I think we are at the first spike now, wars typically start at the second spike, five to eight years into the period, but we will see.

The USA out of Childhood

The other important astrological transit this year is when Pluto becomes conjunct with Pluto in the birth horoscope for the USA, and Pluto describes the ages for countries where Saturn does for humans.

This is the first time, the USA is coming out of childhood. Pluto is leaving the darkness in 2023, and although a short trip backward, the air becomes lighter when it moves into Aquarius. The USA becomes a teenager, it’s time for a love affair, and leaving the materialistic childishness behind.

On the first return on February 20-21, the problem presents itself, the annexation of the eastern territories of Ukraine was the first physical step in defining the problem.

Around July 12, Pluto goes retrograde, and as Pluto is about transformation there may come outer problems that will force inner transformation, where China may become tired of awaiting its chance. The last return will be on December 27 with a kind of result.

World History – Putin versus Ukraine

What we witness is world history, and the Ukrainian fight will stand as the most important in modern history, and their president will earn monuments. They defend Central Europe as they have done before.

The Ukrainians come from Scandinavia, then fighting with Thor now with Michael as a symbol of freedom. It is very symbolic that both Vladimir and Volodymyr come from the old Scandinavian Valdamarr, today Valdemar in Danish, meaning the Ruler of the World. I am impressed by the Ukrainian and I can recognize the Viking inheritance, although the Danes have been more spoiled by fate. I am also impressed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a Russian-speaking Jew whose family lost members to Holocaust. I think this is also telling about the Ukrainian people, that their trust is not dependent on language or genes. He has risen from a comedian to be the perfect world leader, this is so surprising that it should make esotericists think!

The question is what Ruling tradition do we want, czarism or a Goethean tradition of Central Europe?

Taiwan in the Chinese Sea corresponds to Ukraine, and the countries around China lie between China and USA in the same way as Europe lies between Russia and USA!

Rudolf Steiner on the Spiritual Background

The Slav Spiritual Stream versus Czarism

What we see now is a continuation of what happened many times before, that the Russian state has tried to bind the Slav Soul to the Russian state.

“The testament of Peter the Great appeared on the scene in 1813, or perhaps a little earlier, and was disseminated for good reason as though it stemmed from Peter the Great himself.

Peter the Great

This document is used to seize hold of a natural stream, such as the stream of the Slav soul, in order to guide and lead it by means of suggestion. Whither is it to be led? It is to be led into the orbit of Russianism in such a way that the ancient Slav stream should become, in a way, the bearer of the idea of a Russian state!

Because this is so, a clear distinction must be made between the spiritual Slav stream, the stream that exists as the bearer of the ancient Slav tradition, and that which strives to become an external vessel to encompass the whole of this Slav stream: Russianism. …

For Russianism wants to confine the Slav element within its own framework and use it as its tool. It wants to contain it within the confines of the testament of Peter the Great. …

Obviously, therefore, only those who understood the Slav element more deeply could understand what web was really being woven, and also that those who wanted to destroy the Slav element through Russianism had to work against more healthy endeavours.” From R. Steiner, “The Karma of Untruthfulness”, Vol. 1, GA 173, lecture 3.

Linguistic Divisions of the East Slavs

Putin have studied Peter the Great what the following article show: What Putin Learned from Peter the Great.

Russian Intelligentia and the Group Soul

Steiner says that the folk soul is revered by the Russian intelligentsia as something great and significant something they aspire toward, not understanding that they are holding the Russian people back in their development. Steiner from Preparing for the Sixth Epoch:

“What we call the group soul, out of which mankind has gradually emerged and in which the animal kingdom still lives, that is what is revered by the Russian intelligentsia as something great and significant among their people. They cannot rise to the thought that the community of the future must hover as a high ideal, an ideal that has yet to be realized.

Yes, but this life in the group soul does not in reality belong to the future at all, for it is the old form of group soul existence. If it continued it would be a Luciferic group soul, a form of life that has remained at an earlier stage, whereas the form of group soul life that is true and must be striven for, is what we try to find in spiritual science.

▪️What we should like to say to the East is this: It is our task to overcome entirely just what you are trying to preserve in an external form, namely, an old Luciferic-Ahrimanic form of community.

In a community of a Luciferic-Ahrimanic character there will be coercion of belief as rigid as that established by the Orthodox Catholic Church in Russia.

▪️Such community will not understand true freedom of thought; least of all will it be able to rise to the level where complete individuality is associated with a social life in which brotherhood prevails.”

This also explains the way they sacrifice their soldiers in war. It’s reminiscent of the Mongol horde, they send the soldiers against the enemy in endless numbers without any other strategy than spread fear and chaos and thereby tire the enemy. No other army in the world loses more soldiers than the Russian. They have in the short time of this war lost more soldiers than in their Afghanistan war, the war that crippled the USSR.

What the intelligentsia stands for is Czarism:
Czarism and Russianism have always been strangers to each other, they never had anything in common. Those who understand the Russian nature, especially its piety, must have found the attitude to the elimination of Czarism as something self-evident when the time was ripe.” See Steiner: From Symptom to Reality in Modern History.

The Goethean Central Europe as a pendulum between East and West

Europe is in the center between the Egoism symbolized by the rulers of Russia and the Heartlessness of the materialistic system of America, swaying from side to side, split in two over many years.

What we have experienced in connection with Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is that Europe and even the world have shown compassion for the victim, usually, the world is separated into two equally large blocks. Humanity are now following an inner moral where they earlier followed an outer moral.

The Founding Fathers of the Central European Culture.

Rudolf Steiner in Central Europe between East and West:

“Our souls have to tend to that which was prepared in the Central European culture especially expressing that we are put pendulum-like between two powers permeating the world and that we must find the balance.

We have to realise that, on the one side, the world strives for ahrimanic hardening, strives to get solidified in the fire of the purely material; that it strives, on the other side, to ascend egotistically to an abstract spirituality. Following the one or other side would ruin the Central European human being.

Following only the science engaged in the external senses would persuade us to tear the roses from the cross and only to look at that which solidifies. We would gain a world view gradually which would completely deflect the human being from looking at the spiritual. It would allow to only looking at that which has solidified ahrimanically. …

Therefore, the cross wound around by roses was the symbol of Goethe who positioned himself in the spirituality of the Central European culture. It must be our symbol. …

It is expressed to us in our symbol, in the rose cross, what we want to take up more and more in our souls, in our feelings when we come together in a room dedicated to our attempts. Then we can be sure that the spirits who lead the earth development in good sense exist invisible among us; that our words, that all our thoughts and feelings, while we dedicate ourselves to the spiritual-scientific attempts that all this is really supported in such a room by the spiritual powers guiding our attempts.” GA 159

Europe becoming one again

The Origin of the Eastern and Western Poles

To develop an I without egotism Europe was placed between Egotism to the East and Heartless materialism to the West. Europe became a pendulum that moved between these extremes.

Today Europe is finding their Equilibrium and is beginning to stand on their own feet, and both Russia and USA is becoming free of their curses.

From Rudolf Steiner’s “Genghis Khan and the Discovery of America”:

The East Pole — The Luciferic powers of the Mongols

“It was actually the descendants of the old Atlantean teachers who were now working from a place in Asia. A priest there had been educated to behold — to have a belated vision, as it were, of what the Atlanteans called the “Great Spirit,” and to receive his commands.

These the priest communicated to a young man of remarkable energy and strength who, by virtue of this authority, received the name “The Great Ruler of the Earth” from his community. This was Genghis Khan (c. 1158–1162 – August 18, 1227). The Great Spirit, through his follower and through that priest, gave to Genghis Khan the command to summon all the powers of Asia to spread the influence that would lead the fifth post-Atlantean age back into a luciferic form. …

Genghis Khan’s generals

All the unrest and disturbance that came into the evolution of modern man through the Mongolian invasions, everything connected with them that has gone on working into the fifth post-Atlantean epoch — all this unrest, which was prepared long ago, is nothing more than the great attempt that is being made from Asia to bring about a visionary European culture.

It would cut it off from the conditions of its further evolution and lead it altogether away from the earth, just as the East has experienced again and again this feeling of being filled with vision and of wanting to be estranged from the earth. [Eighth Sphere.]

Something was needed to counterbalance this tendency. An opposite trend had to be created as a counterforce that moves in the direction of the normal evolution of mankind.

The influence of Genghis Khan’s priest was intended to bring about a kind of buoyancy and lightness in the human race that would draw man away from the earth.”

The West Pole — The Ahrimanic Powers of Taotl

“Over against this, a corresponding heaviness had to come to man from the weight of the earth; this was provided through the discovery of the western world. America, with all that it holds, was discovered and thereby earth heaviness, the desire to remain on earth, was given to man.

Europe discovers America in 1492

The discovery of America and everything connected with it, and the way man carried his life into the many new places of the earth, all this, when seen in wider connections, shows itself as a counterbalancing force to the activity of Genghis Khan.

America had to be discovered so that man might be brought to grow closer to the earth, to grow more and more materialistic. Man needed weight and heaviness to counterbalance the spiritualization that was the aim of the descendants of the “Great Spirit.” …

While it is comparatively easy to see how the luciferic [Egoistic] influence worked on Genghis Khan — we have exact knowledge of the fact that a priest was initiated by the follower of the “Great Spirit” — it is much more difficult to say how the ahrimanic spirit worked. This is because the ahrimanic [materialistic] influence is dispersed and scattered. [Materialism is a system not individuals.] …

Study the reaction of Europe to the gradual discovery and opening up of America and you will see what temptations came from that direction. Taken all in all, it is a history of temptation woven in with a history that runs a normal course.” ~GA171

It is interesting that Vladimir and Volodymyr both are of Viking heritage, Valdamarr in old Scandinavian, Valdemar in modern Danish, meaning Ruler of the World. This is the choice, the egoism of Djengis Khan or the freedom of Michael.

East, West and the Double

Man consists of body, soul and spirit, but besides that there is a foreign element called the double, containing elemental beings we fight with through our life. The double is the animal part in us, what we developed through the old Moon, together with the added karma and trauma developed on earth. This double is like a nature power influenced from the earth depending on where the person lives. In America the double is influenced by Ahrimanic powers and in Asia by Luciferic powers.

From Rudolf Steiner’s “Individual Spirit Beings and the Undivided Foundation of the World”:

“The strange thing is that this subconscious that we carry within us is taken hold of by another being under all circumstances. This means that we are not only a fusion of body, soul, and spirit, carrying within us through the world our soul, which is independent of our body; shortly before birth another being takes possession of the subconscious portions of the human being. This being is there, this subconscious being that accompanies man the entire way between birth and death. Somewhat before birth it enters man and accompanies him.

One can also characterize this being as one that permeates man in those parts that do not come into his ordinary consciousness: it is a very intelligent being and possessed of a will that is akin to the forces of nature; in its will it is much more closely related to the forces of nature than is man. …

This earth, however, not only consists of skeleton but is a living organism, and this earth sends from its center to every point on the surface, to every territory, special forces. Picture for yourself the surface of the earth (see drawing):

Ahriman, the heartless, to the West, Lucifer, egotism, to the East.

Here is the Eastern region, there the Western region, to take it only on a large scale. The forces that are transmitted from the earth are something that belong to the life organism of the earth. Depending on whether a human being lives on this or that spot on earth, his soul, this immortal soul, does not come directly in contact with these forces but only indirectly — the immortal soul of man is relatively independent of earthly conditions. The soul is only artificially dependent upon earthly conditions, as was shown today. …

It is thus this “double,” which man bears within him, upon whom the geographic and other differentiations particularly exert their influences.”

The Mythical Constant of the Universe – 137

The most mystical and mythical number in the universe, both within science and esotericism.

Esoterically it defines God and man as we are created in the picture of God. It shows God as one, as three in the Trinity or body, soul and spirit, and the seven Elohim or seven human spiritual bodies.

For physicists, it describes the universe. It’s called the fine-structure constant and is one of the key physical constants of the universe.

“This immutable number determines how stars burn, how chemistry happens, and even whether atoms exist at all,” as Michael Brooks explained in a New Scientist article.

If this value was changed just a little the universe would end in chaos that would not have been habitable, where life, as we know it, couldn’t have evolved.

From Wikipedia:

Since the early 1900s, physicists have postulated that the number could lie at the heart of a grand unified theory, relating theories of electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and, especially, gravity.

The fine-structure constant, a dimensionless physical constant, is approximately 1/137.

Lederman expounded on the significance of the number in his book The God Particle: If the Universe Is the Answer, What Is the Question?, noting that not only was it the inverse of the fine-structure constant, but was also related to the probability that an electron will emit or absorb a photon—i.e., Feynman’s conjecture.

He added that it also “contains the crux of electromagnetism (the electron), relativity (the velocity of light), and quantum theory (Planck’s constant).

It would be less unsettling if the relationship between all these important concepts turned out to be one or three or maybe a multiple of pi. But 137?

The number 137, according to Lederman, “shows up naked all over the place”, meaning that scientists on any planet in the universe using whatever units they have for charge or speed, and whatever their version of Planck’s constant may be, will all come up with 137, because it is a pure number.

Lederman recalled that Richard Feynman had even suggested that all physicists put a sign in their offices with the number 137 to remind them of just how much they do not know.

At the range of 10−15 m (1 femtometer), the strong force is approximately 137 times as strong as electromagnetism.

Feynman on 137

“Immediately you would like to know where this number for a coupling comes from: is it related to p or perhaps to the base of natural logarithms?

Nobody knows. It’s one of the greatest damn mysteries of physics: a magic number that comes to us with no understanding by man. You might say the “hand of God” wrote that number, and “we don’t know how He pushed his pencil”.

We know what kind of a dance to do experimentally to measure this number very accurately, but we don’t know what kind of dance to do on the computer to make this number come out, without putting it in secretly!” ~ R. P. Feynman, QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter

In Religion

The Bible says that Ishmael, Levi and Amram all lived to be 137 years old. The three appearances make it the most common lifespan of individuals in the Bible.

Kabbalah

The Hebrew word קבלה (Kabbalah) has a Gematria (numerical value) of 137.

Kabbalah is generally taken to mean “the received tradition”, which conveys the continuity of a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. Nevertheless, the earlier nuance of meaning is seen in the first appearances of its root in the Torah (Exodus 26:5 and 36:12), where it means “parallel” or “corresponding” rather than “receiving”.

It is used to describe the “corresponding loops”, which, when clasped together, enjoined the two sections of the Tabernacle’s ceiling. These loops were suspended directly over the veil that divided the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies.

Symbolically, this is the threshold between the physical dimension and the utterly spiritual dimension. In other words, at the boundary line of the physical world, the number 137 emerges. The wisdom of Kabbalah is to find correspondences between the mundane and spiritual levels of reality.

Bonds of Love Between Souls

Love is for the world what the sun is for external life. No soul could thrive if love departed from the world. Love is the “moral” sun of the world. ~Steiner

(…) all my life, my search for you had no end. And what made me seek, to such a measure, was yourself, in me. ~Goethe

“Threads from soul to soul are woven here in the physical world as the result of the manifold circumstances of existence. Bonds of friendship, of love, and so on, are firmly knit, and every contact made between one human being and another has significance and reality not only for this physical world but also for the spiritual world. Indeed, it may be said that the more spiritual the relationships here have been, the more significant they are for the world of Devachan (soul-world). When the individual dies, everything that is physical in these relationships of love and friendship falls away from them and only what was of the nature of soul and spirit remains.

(…) If you try to picture the whole human race on the earth and all the bonds of friendship and love that have been woven, you must picture these relationships as a great network or web, which is, moreover, actually present in Devachan. When a clairvoyant gazes at the earth from the standpoint of Devachan, he perceives this web of spiritual relationships that a human being finds a gain when he passes into Devachan after death. He is involved in all the spiritual relationships he himself has woven.

(…) In Devachan, souls confront each other directly. The relationship of soul to soul is far more intimate and inward than it is in the physical world. Recognition of loved ones is not particularly difficult here, for each soul bears his inner, spiritual reality inscribed as it were upon his spiritual countenance. He himself proclaims his name, indeed, in a much truer form than is possible here, as the basic tone, which, as it is said in occultism, he represents in the spiritual world.

(…) Companionship in Devachan is, to say the least, as intimate as any life here on earth. Fellow feeling in Devachan is much more alert, much more intimate than it is on earth; one experiences another’s pain there as one’s own. On earth, greater or less personal prosperity is possible at the costs of others but in Devachan that is out of the question. There, the misfortune caused by someone to another human being in order to better himself would reverberate upon him; nobody could prosper at the expense of another.

Adjustment starts from Devachan. It is from there that the impulse is brought to make brotherliness a reality here on the earth. A law that is a matter of course in Devachan is a task that has to be fulfilled on earth.” ~Rudolf Steiner, Rosicrucian Esotericismn

Good Tidings of Great Joy

This beautiful song describes the birth of the soul in our inner, before that the soul had hovered above the body, preparing the body to be ready to contain the soul.

Our inner fights are between the body, with the ego as the old master, and the soul with our I as the new master.

The soul is kind of taming the body, like a rider taming a horse, trying to convince the body that it will be better of with the soul as companion than without.

The soul tame with love as this is the only way that soul and body can come to trust each other unconditionally.

We experience up through life that our consciousness raise from the ego to the I, and sometimes it feels like an elevator moving up and down between darkness in solar plexus to the light in the heart.

The gods died in the outer world. With the death of Krishna the world became dark, and in the following Kali Yuga we couldn’t see the gods any longer also sumbolized by Odin losing one eye when receiving the Runes, the words. Ragnarok, as described through Odin, was the end of the outer gods, confirmed by Buddha and Elijah who told and showed that the gods who had wandered the Earth had disappeared.

With Christ the gods died in the outer world, all the rules they had told humanity was replaces by two. Love your spiritual father, follow his words in your inner, your conscience, the words of the soul. And love your next as yourself. With these two laws you don’t need more laws. With time you stop hearing your conscience as a separate voice, you have become one with the conscience.

Martin Luther: FROM HEAVEN ABOVE TO EARTH I COME

“Luther, though a rebel, was no Puritan, and was a passionate lover of music and folk-poetry. “I would fain,” he said, “see all arts, especially music, in the service of Him who has given and created them.”

Kindly, a lover of children, he had a deep feeling for the festival of Christmas; and in 1534 he wrote for his children (including his little son Hans) one of the most delightful and touching of all Christmas hymns — “Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her.”

According to Clement A. Miles, its first verse was adapted from a secular song; its melody may, perhaps, have been composed by Luther himself.

Luke 2:10:

And the angel said unto them,

Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,

which shall be to all people..

1. “From heaven above to earth I come
To bear good news to every home;
Glad tidings of great joy I bring,
Whereof I now will say and sing:

2. “To you this night is born a child
Of Mary, chosen virgin mild;
This little child, of lowly birth,
Shall be the joy of all the earth.

3. “This is the Christ, our God and Lord,
Who in all need shall aid afford;
He will Himself your Savior be
From all your sins to set you free.

4. “He will on you the gifts bestow
Prepared by God for all below,
That in His kingdom, bright and fair,
You may with us His glory share.

5. “These are the tokens ye shall mark:
The swaddling-clothes and manger dark;
There ye shall find the Infant laid
By whom the heavens and earth were made.”

6. Now let us all with gladsome cheer
Go with the shepherds and draw near
To see the precious gift of God,
Who hath His own dear Son bestowed.

7. Give heed, my heart, lift up thine eyes!
What is it in yon manger lies?
Who is this child, so young and fair?
The blessed Christ-child lieth there.

8. Welcome to earth, Thou noble Guest,
Through whom the sinful world is blest!
Thou com’st to share my misery;
What thanks shall I return to Thee?

9. Ah, Lord, who hast created all,
How weak art Thou, how poor and small,
That Thou dost choose Thine infant bed
Where humble cattle lately fed!

10. Were earth a thousand times as fair,
Beset with gold and jewels rare,
It yet were far too poor to be
A narrow cradle, Lord, for Thee.

11. For velvets soft and silken stuff
Thou hast but hay and straw so rough,
Whereon Thou, King, so rich and great,
As ’twere Thy heaven, art throned in state.

12. And thus, dear Lord, it pleaseth Thee
To make this truth quite plain to me,
That all the world’s wealth, honor, might,
Are naught and worthless in Thy sight.

13. Ah, dearest Jesus, holy Child,
Make Thee a bed, soft, undefiled,
Within my heart, that it may be
A quiet chamber kept for Thee.

14. My heart for very joy doth leap,
My lips no more can silence keep;
I, too, must sing with joyful tongue
That sweetest ancient cradle-song:

15. Glory to God in highest heaven,
Who unto us His Son hath given!
While angels sing with pious mirth
A glad new year to all the earth.

The Three Mother Letters

The Hebrew letters, their form and how they are created, how they are put together to extend its meaning or create new letters, is simply so beautiful and ingenious that it’s nearly unbelievable. The Hebrew letters is an artificial alphabet just as sanskrit is an artificial language. It reminds in it’s construction of a sublimation of Chinese signs.

The letters and words are archetypal signs, giving a unique strength to describe the esoteric wisdom that only can be understood through the archetypes and not through abstractions.

But we don’t need to understand the Hebrew letters, the archetypal informations is found everywhere. The reason I describe the Three Mother Letters is that they tell the same story as the Gnostic creation story around Sophia, the Christian and the Indian creation stories, and the Mayans, and many others, with a very simple but clear symbology.

IMG_0934The three mother letters is not only the three letters the other letters of the alphabet is formed, but also the primordial powers of the universe who created everything in existence.

The First Logos א Aleph

Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet or Aleph-bet, here starts the creation at the Beginning of Time. As א Aleph is the first letter it has the numerical value of 1. It is associated with air, with the wind. bible-verse-john-1

This letter is central in many esoteric names connected to the Beginnings, like אלוהים Elohim, which is the word for the primordial gods or hierarchies. The word for God is ‘El,’ written with א Aleph and ל Lamed. The Beginnings is also known as Chronos or the angelic hierarchy called the Archai, the Spirits of Time and Personality, or Sophia.

CreationAdamCreated in the Beginning, Saturn or Kronos

This is the first creation, the Father, Adam, אדם, the material foundation for all later creation, in a form much like hot air. At the end of creation it will be transformed into Atma. Aleph, means “bull, ox, cattle, cow” and represent the physical body.

Aleph6It’s also the A in AUM

The development takes place through seven æons, cosmic days, and the I AM of the creator, Atman, permeates the new creation in each step. It permeates the physical in the first period, and ends in Atma in the last period.

IMG_4855The Seven Cosmic Days of Creation

Adam is the Father, Lilith the physical expression of the Father. Eve is the Mother, Cain is the Etheric expression of Eve, the Son of God. Abel is the Son of Man, the Holy Spirit. See Sophia, Created in the Beginning.

The Sound of AUM (ॐ) and א

AUM is a matrix of all sounds. These three sounds can be said without the tongue, all other sounds can be said with these three sounds modified by the tongue. Much as the Three Mother Letters create all other letters.

Linguistically, all audible sounds are produced beginning at the root of the tongue and ending at the lips.

  • A is the throat sound, symbolized through the lower lip, sitting on the lower jaw, not connected to the rest of our skeleton. It represent the powers from the spirit.
  • The U sound starts at the root of the tongue, continuing until it ends in the lips. Symbolized through the line between the lips, the Word. The tongue is free of the skeleton, represents the soul between body and spirit, creating the reality by using the powers from body and spirit.
  • M is the lip sound, symbolized through the upper lip, connected to the whole skeleton, representing the powers from the body.

IMG_9596

א Aleph can also be seen as the mound. The left and lower wing is the upper lip, the Third Logos, the Holy Spirit. The middle line is the line between the lips, the Second Logos, the Word. The right and upper wing is the lower lip, the First Logos, the Father.

The Second Logos מ Mem

Mem is the thirteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Mem exists in two shapes shown in the spelling of the word מם Mem. On the right, the first shape is open at the bottom. This opening symbolizes the flowing wave made by the י Iod through the ray of creation, the ו Vav. The closed shape on the left represents potential creation.

י Iod ו Vav and the final ם Mem spell the word יום yom, which means “day”. We find the word יום yom in the Book of Genesis for the days of creation. The closed Mem is the Cosmic Day, the male principle in the creation, like Yaldabaoth or Vishnu.

The י Iod and the final Mem spells the word, ים yam, a word similar to יום yom. ים Yam means sea, ocean. Letters םמ Mem together with the letter י Iod in the middle, spell the word מים mayim, water. Water symbolizes wisdom in it’s lower aspect, as Memory in the Etheric world, and wisdom in its higher aspect, Buddhi. The Iod in between is the transforming principle, the soul, the I AM, that transforms the etheric to buddhi, karma to wisdom.

So in the shape of both open Mem and final Mem, we see that the letter Iod is like a wave at the top left, which expresses that the Iod, the beginning of יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, as a wave of water, causes the flowing of the Logos, the word. The female Mem works through the masculine Mem in the form of the creator Yahweh, Christ, Krishna or Adam Kadmon.

CreationEveCainThis is the second Day in the Creation

The letter ם final Mem is related with the second aspect, Ain Soph. The word soph means end or final. It relates to the Unmanifested Mother.

The letter Mem symbolizes the womb, the unknowable. The מ open Mem, which has a gap in the bottom, is the womb that is ready for parturition; it is that womb from which all the days of Genesis emerge, except the first, the Father. The Father is also a creator, but the Father only gives the י Iod, the seed. The Mother shapes it for nine months. The מ open Mem is the U in AUM.

The daughter coming from the Father, is the first visible feminine aspect, Eve. That feminine aspect is the Divine Mother, Sophia, always hidden in the three primary forces, represented in the letter א Aleph.

The name for the Divine Mother is מרים Miriam – which begins with the open Mem and ends with the final Mem, also known as Shechinah. מרים Miriam appears as a sister of משה Moses, whose name also begins with Mem. Miriam is translated in English to Mary and otherwhere also to Maria.

We are the letter מ Mem, physically speaking, but we can’t see it. The shape of the letter מ Mem itself is the central nervous system, the the very womb where the Divine Mother works, the womb shown in the letter מ Mem.

The letter כ Kaf relates to the head of God, and the letter ו Vav represents the spinal column, and together they form the central nervous system, the throne of God. So Mem is the throne of God.

“Let there be light!” Yet, that light emerges because of א Aleph, the Spirit, that as a single י Iod is floating above the מ Mem.

We can awaken the שכינה Shechinah inside of ourselves by the action of the two מם Mems – the Mem of the man and the Mem of the woman. It’s called the unification of the feminine and masculine, of soul and body, the Alchemical Wedding of the Rosicrucians.

The superior waters are the מ Mem above, Eve, that are pouring into the ם Mem below, Cain, the Son of God. The מ Mem above is the Heavens, the Mother, Sophia, Wisdom, Buddhi. The ם Mem below is the earth, the Son of God, the Creating Power.

The Third Logos ש Shin

Shin is the 21’st letter of the alphabet with a value of 300, and added together giving the hidden number 3, and the Third Logos has everything to do with three. From the right the letter Shin is formed by the letters נ Nun, ז Zain and ו Vav, resting upon the base of נ Nun.

Shin symbolize three flames, so ש symbolizes fire, astral fire. Fire in Hebrew is written with two letters: א Aleph and ש Shin. The apostles are shown with the fire of the Holy Spirit above their heads, this is Shin

This shape is known in many traditions by the trident of Neptune/Poseidon/Lucifer, and the spear or trishula of Shiva, and through M in the AUM. This is the weapon of the Gods. The word Shin שין means tooth or fork. They represent the three Gunas, Tamas, Rajas and Sattva, also known as Modalities in Astrology, Fixed, Cardinal and Mutable.

CreationAbelThird Day in Creation

The symbols for the Third Logos are the most numerous on Earth as it was the gift of Lucifer, the gift of word thinking, where we as animals previously had visual thinking.

The spelling of the name of the letter ש Shin contains the three letters שין Shin, Iod, and final Nun. The letter Iod is the top flame that when prolonged descends into the Earth as a final Nun. The letter Nun in its normal shape relates to Malkuth, the earth.

This descending Iod is the Third Logos, the withold brother of Cain, Abel, the Son of Man. Abel is the Holy Spirit awaiting that man are ready to accept his gift, the astral body, to enter the Earth at Golgotha.

Nun is ”fish” in Aramaic; it is the seed, the salt, the sperm that creates life in the physical world, Earth. These three represent the first and second logoi in the third. The gods walking the earth have often been depicted as fish-men.

The Three Logoi

Steiner have described the role of the Three Logoi and how they relate to each other. This text is simple and ingenious, but not easy to understand for western thinking. I have tried to understand it through many years, but first recently did I unravel the mystery.

His text describes the archetypal pattern behind the reality, but to understand it, we need to have a good understanding of archetypes, and not the superficial archetypes of psychoanalysis, but more like the archetypal ideas of Goethe.

All spiritual literature and religious and esoteric symbols in the world, as in I Ching, Tarot or Astrology, or in Chinese signs or dream language, build on such archetypal symbols.

These symbols are not abstractions, but represents something existing. This understanding is necessary to understand the underlying so-called hidden knowledge, that are freely accessible for everybody, but to read it we need to understand the language and it’s semantics.

Most people who interpret dreams see the dreams as american novels, with a large gallery of central characters and intricate plots, but it’s a gross misunderstanding, and the results are often long beautiful interpretations without meaning, but satisfying the ego’s wishful thinking.

Dreams are like texts written with Chinese symbols, where the person gallery is secondary, only necessary to create the picture, seldom the object of the dream.

A simple example: “a person jumps on a trampoline.” The picture shows the use of much energy without changing anything, the person in the picture is irrelevant.

Understanding the context is necessary to understand the meaning of the picture. In the case with the trampoline the dreamer had used enormous energy the day before discussing with persons who attacked her belief. It was wasted energies on something that didn’t change anything.

This is one of the difficulties translating Chinese texts to Western languages, as much knowledge of the context is necessary to understand the written. The shorter the author can make the text, leaving as much of the supposed known context out, the more beautiful it’s seen.

A short extract of Steiner’s text on the Three Logoi:

TheCreation3Logoi

Here we have three definitions of Beings who bring about, who underlie a planetary chain [An incarnation of the Earth, an earth æon.] They are called the three Logoi.

• The Third Logos produces by means of combining.
•
When out of one substance something else having new life comes into being, this is brought forth by the Second Logos.
•
Everywhere, however, where we have to do with a coming forth out of nothing, we have the First Logos.

This is why the First Logos is also often called the One who is immanent in things, the Second Logos the One who in the quiescent substance in things creates life out of the living, the Third Logos the One who combines everything existing, who puts the world together out of things.

These three Logoi always manifest in the world in and through one another.
…
In contemplating the world one continually sees the interaction of the three Logoi.

It’s a short extract from The Logos Walks the Earth with Steiners text and my description on how it relates to to other traditions.

Tarot

In Tarot we have the Fool א as the first creation, the start of humanity’s long path. The Hanged Man מ symbolizes the middle of the path, where man is as deeply in the physical as possible. In the Æon ש humankind have reached the end of the path where we show we have reached the goal.

Horus through the Cosmic Day

We also know Horus under the name of Vishnu, the Second Logos. He starts the development process by developing the physical world with all living plants, animals and humans. In the next step he incorporates the soul in the bodies, and the human souls are aspects of Horus himself.

In the end the body, soul and spirit are in equilibrium and works flawlessly together, as the I AM or Atman permeates all three fully. It means that our consciousness that before only were awake in the soul now are awake in both body, soul and spirit and that they can act in parallel and in agreement without internal fights.
Horus-day

When all three are in equilibrium we will no longer die anymore, we will have our memory from life to life. We will leave the outer physical shell behind but keep the physical form behind it and takes a new physical layer on when returning to the Earth again.

This is the goal for all of mankind but already now the oldest souls who incarnated on earth are ready to go through this process.

The Logos Walks the Earth

“The greatest untold story is the evolution of God.”
― G.I. Gurdjieff

I have here a text by Rudolf Steiner where he describe the three Logoi. I have added other quotes by Steiner and my own comments and diagrams.

All text by Steiner is italicized, except in pictures.

The Three Logoi

There are three godly creative powers in the universe, the three Logoi: In Kabbalah they are called the Father, Mother and Son and in Christianity they are called Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It’s different terminology, but the underlying reality is the same.

The Father, Mother and Son symbology describes the creative type in relation to the creation and higher Logoi. The Mother is of course the Creator of humankind. The Father gives the idea, the Mother gives life and the Son gives form.  The Trinity defines their role in the creation. See more on this aspect in Sophia – Creator of Humankind.

The First Logos creates out of nothing, creates Consciousness. The Second Logos creates new Life out of the existing and guides the living. The Third Logos combines the created, the building blocks, the clockwork of the microcosmos.

Rudolf Steiner has written this text on the three Logoi, but I must admit I didn’t understand the text before I had worked it out for myself. Its very short and he doesn’t give any details or examples, but I think it’s one of the deepest secrets he has hidden here for us to find. I think it’s about time it becomes known.

From Steiner’s Foundations of Esotericism, lecture 27:

Here we have three definitions of Beings who bring about, who underlie a planetary chain. They are called the three Logoi.

• The Third Logos produces by means of combining.
When out of one substance something else having new life comes into being, this is brought forth by the Second Logos.

TheThreeLogoi2

These three Logoi always manifest in the world in and through one another.

In contemplating the world one continually sees the interaction of the three Logoi.

When a new creation starts, a new Æon, the First Logos sacrifices himself by falling down to a lower level. An archangel becomes an angel by adding an etheric body as a lower body.

The first logos is related to the second, as when, standing in front of the mirror image, we undertake to give our own life to the mirror image. The surrender of life is the original sacrifice in free action. That is the act of the first logo.

The second logos is exactly the same as the first logos, except that it was given its existence by a sacrifice. If one now studies the effect of the second logos, one finds that the essence of the second logos is that it radiates the essence of the first logos back to the first logos.

Thus, the second logos is a reflection of the first logos from which he received his own life, the life that emanated from the first logos.

The lecture series Foundations of Esotericism contains gold nuggets not found elsewhere. Not all versions of this text are good or contain all the pictures. This I think contains everything.

When Christ as First Logos sacrificed himself in the Saturn Æon when he took an astral body as the lowest body he became an archangel. On the old Sun he created Lucifer as a mirror image of himself, the Second Logos, and Lucifer became the first true being of the archangelic hierarchy.

The First Logos encircles the creation, the Second Logos enters the reality. It splits in two, a female part like Sophia or Eve and a masculine part like Anthropos or Adam, and like a potter the one hand forms the pot from outside and the other from within.

Now we have a binary in the Second Logos. The life and content of the Second Logos are twofold. The content is the same as the First Logos, but life is different than the First Logos.

First-and-second-Logos

The dash in the middle of the second circle means that in the Second Logos life and content are twofold, that they are divided. When it comes to content, image and mirror image are the same for both, but life is twofold. ~Steiner.

The Third Logos is even more complex to understand. The Third Logos is the physical reality we live in, it’s the physical Earth we see and the reality behind it, the Grail or the Holy Spirit.

First, the First Logos is reflected once again, secondly, the reflection is reflected. This then gives the Third Logos as the reflection of the other two logoi. So it contains the Third logos:

• the mirror image of the First Logos
• the mirror image of what the First Logos in the Second Logos did, namely his life
• The mirror image of what the Second Logos reflects back to the First Logos.

Let us now imagine: The First Logos is mirrored in a. If the First Logos is the creative activity that strives outward, then its reflection in the Third Logos is just the reverse activity of the First Logos. In the First Logos, a is the highest spiritual world light: in the Third Logos, a is the ultimate spiritual darkness.

ln the Second Logos, b is the life that the Second Logos received from the First Logos. It is not the life that sacrifices itself, but the one that has been accepted. The life that sacrifices itself in the First Logos is love. The opposite of this in the Third Logos is the absolute desire, longing, striving for logos, b is therefore the absolute desire in the Third Logos.

In the Second Logos c is the mirror image of the First Logos, which reflects the Second Logos.

First-second-and-third Logos
In our own reflection we distinguish:
• The emitted image coming back, from the darkness.
• What we have surrendered comes back as desire.
• The image itself, which we ourselves are.

This corresponds in the Third Logos to the three parts:
a spiritual darkness= Tamas
b the absolute desire = Rajas
c the simple reflection of the first logo = sattva

Tamas, Rajas, Sattva are the three gunas, the three parts of the Third Logos. ~Steiner

First, a, b and c are present.

• If a alone exists, it is Tamas.
• When a – the spiritual darkness or Tamas – combines with b – rajas, the absolute desire – darkness combines with desire, and it is a striving for the first logos.
• When a and c – Tamas and Sattva – are combined, we have created the image of the first logo out of the darkness.
• Likewise, we can combine b with c. It can each occur individually and be combined with one of the others.
• All three combined are what the first logo itself is.

We have seven possible combinations of the three gunas:

permutated_abc

So these are the seven different combinations of Gunas. Imagine these seven possible combinations as the next world-creative principle that can emerge from the three Gunas. These seven entities really exist. They are the so-called seven creative spirits before the Throne of God, according to the three Logoi the seven nearest creative powers:

permutated_abc2

~Steiner.

Seven creative spirits, which Jacob Boehme calls the seven spring spirits in his aurora, spring from the third logos, for all three activities of the third logos can work together, or in pairs two or each: there are seven combinations that appear essential, and of which the one that encompasses all three activities is the third logo itself. Thus, the next level is reached world-creative beings. ~Steiner.

I have used a drawing of Steiner to show this information, the Alchemist Mountain. It’s a versatile diagram that can be used to show many aspects of man, gods and the universe. It corresponds to the seven lowest sephira in the Kabbalah Tree of Life. Here put together with the Seven Creative Spirits and the Æon’s:

SevenCreativeSpiritsEons

These  seven world-creative principles correspond to the seven planets but also to the Planetary development cycles, Æons, the incarnations our Earth goes through, but also the shorter development periods follow this sequence. See more later.

In the old Saturn æon the seed of the physical body and Atma was created. This is the Father. In the old Sun æon the seed of the etheric body and Buddhi was added. This is the Son. On the old Moon the seed of the astral body and Manas was added. This is the Holy Spirit.

IMG_3709

The astral is the most flexible layer, most conscious, and therefore easier to transform. The etheric layers consciousness is not as flexible so it’s less easy to transform. And the physical layer is the least flexible and therefore most difficult to transform.

Atma need all three layers (abc) to develop before it can be developed, and the consciousness soul is the channel developed.

Development of the spiritual bodies:

ab • The soul is the result of the work between the physical (a) and etheric body (b).
ac • The Spirit Self or Manas is the result of the experiences of the physical body (a) transforming the karma of the astral (c).

bc • Life Spirit or Buddhi is our wisdom, the result of the transformation of our etheric body (b) our opinions by the speculative thinking of the astral body (c).
abc • Spirit Body or Atma is the result of the transformation of the physical (a) by the work of the Etheric (b) and the astral (c).

IMG_2012

Through the work in the physical and the etheric we create the soul. Through the work in the physical and astral we create Manas, develop the higher I. Through the work in the Etheric and Astral we create Buddhi, wisdom. Through the work in a, b and c we create Atma, the resurrection body.

They are the foundation behind all creation. We know them most visibly through Osiris, Isis and Horus, but usually the Logoi are hidden under a veil of mystery.

In every creation a being is selected to become the coming Logos for that creation, being the archetype for the rest of the creation. Already from old Saturn was the creating Word of humanity selected and prepared for the role.

This creating downwards is shown in Kabbalah where the Sephirots, the Logoi, are created downward. When the creation develops and raises, the Logos follows its siblings up. The Logos is like a sun in the creation, in the hierarchy.

Kabbalah-angelic-hierarchies

The Tree of Life

In Christianity the archangel names are titles for the Logos at a given hierarchy. Steiner compares the great archangels to the other members of the angelic hierarchy as the sun to a planet.

The Messenger of God, Archangel Gabriel, is the Logos of the Angels. The Face of God, Archangel Michael, is the Logos of the archangelic hierarchy. The archangelic hierarchy should not be confused with the great archangels.

The Gods walk the Earth

This describes the Logoi in the Earth development, and less the actual details, I have another text describing more detailed here: Esoteric Earth History.

The Three Logoi is known through many symbols, here we have a number of such:

IMG_7427

Steiner mentions that Zarathustra is the Second Logos, one of the three main teachers of mankind. These high spiritual powers work on Earth:

High spiritual beings whom we call masters stream down to us.
We should realize that it’s mainly they who guide us and are near to us in meditation.
We should also know that they walk on earth incarnated in a physical body.
The Symbology and Meaning of AUM

Adam and Eve – Anthropos and Sophia

In Genesis we have Adam as the first creation by Sophia, the physical world. Eve is the second creation, in who Sophia emanates into. Adam is the First Logos and Eve is the Second Logos, and Cain is her masculine side entering the physical universe as Yaldabaoth where Eve takes care of the spiritual side.

Cain is the Son of God, the Second Logos, who are the archetype of humankind, who develop life on Earth from the smallest cells to the human body, and the spiritual bodies, walking the path just before we walk it.

Abel is the Son of Man, the Third Logos we know as Jesus, he is a reflection of Adam and Eve, the Second Logos.

384px-artemis_of_ephesus_man_napoli_inv6278

At the start of  Earth Sophia  was the etheric planet where all life was connected through tubes where prana feed all beings.

She took on the physical as outer body, that became more and more solid until she once became fully coated by physical materia.

The Second Logos developed all the physical life on Earth from one celled life until human life. The Second Logos was in form of the archetypal pair the only one incarnating around the end of Lemuria and the start of Atlantis.

The Earth and its life was fully covered in the physical stuff at the end of Dream Time, when Krishna died from mankind’s view, when the Dark Time, Kali Yuga, started. Sophia left the physical and raised to angel, Theosophia.

The First Logos was Zarathustra, Odin, Zeus, Noah, Elisha, and many more through whom Sophia worked.

Krishna teaches Arjuna, the Second Logos, to lead humanity on after the Dark Night, Kali Yuga, falls over the Earth. Krishna puts on paper the knowledge that people could see in the spiritual world, so it survived into the coming Dark Age. See Krishna and the Holy Spirit.

Arjuna learns that Krishna will not interact directly any longer in the human affairs, Krishna will in the future work through Arjuna. But even if Arjuna is one against all Krishna will make sure that he wins, through the wheel of fate, the Zodiac.

Krishna with the Wheel of Fate.

Christ Jesus

The First Logos is also known as the personality of Zarathustra, with the prime objective to develop the I, and preparing mankind to live in a purely physical world.

Jesus of Nazareth is a very highly developed individuality. In the thirtieth year of his life he gives up his own life to the descending Christ, the descending Logos. All this the Magi foresaw. The great sacrifice made by Jesus of Nazareth is that he gave up his ‘ I ’ to make way for the Second Logos. ~Steiner

With Jesus incarnated the Third Logos, the Son of Man, Abel, the one who stayed back. In the Son of Man is the creation descended a level deeper into the physical, by him the astral body is the fourth principle, where the I will be developed, where we had the I in the soul, in the intellectual soul, a purification of the etheric soul.

Steiner mentions that he as child he spoke a language only his mother spoke, who represents Sophia. It was dream language they spoke, the language spoken between the astral body and the higher I.

IMG_3755

The following text also points to the Jesus being as the Holy Spirit, awaiting the time to incarnate:

The spirit that prevailed in the common origin of both souls and bodies is the father spirit; that is the “Father”.

The spirit that prevailed down below in the physical realm, whilst the spiritual went its separate ways up above, is the son spirit; that is the “Son”.

And the spirit that prevailed up above in the soul sphere until it was able to descend into the physical realm, that is the “Holy Spirit”.

From the notes of the lecture “The promised spirit of truth”, Cologne, 8 March 1907

The body of Jesus became one with the Earth, he didn’t leave the grave again, the Third Logos entered the earth.

Cave-of-Christ

When Christ left the Sun he left the highest member Atma behind so the highest body was the Buddhi, and attained the elemental body of type I as the lowest. He is the Archetype of the new humanity that will go through the human development on New Jupiter, also called New Jerusalem.

MysteryOfGolgotha

Here he receives the Buddhi:

MotherOfJesus1a

And:

BuddhiEarth

The soul of the First Logos entered Jesu Soul at thirteen and before the Baptism it leaves the soul again.

John the Baptist represented the old Adam Kadmon, he pointed on to the next. John was beheaded, separating body and head, splitting the upper and lower principles of the old Adam. After this he hovers above the disciples, as the spirit of the First Logos.

The incarnating Third Logos:

LastSupper.jpg

The Running Youth

When the running youth left Jesus, it was the First Logos who left. Jesus died and entered the death world, the astral world, as the Third Logos.

We see it again at the grave.

Zarathustra and Lazarus

Zarathustra-Lazarus

The Zarathustra soul Steiner mentions is the First Logos and Lazarus the Second Logos:

Lazarus-Zarathustra1c

Here give Christ over to Lazarus John, the Second Logos, mentioning the relationship between Zarathustra and Lazarus.

Lazarus-Zarathustra2

The Second Logos is represented by John the Evangelist who leaves the cave, Earth, to become the teacher and leader of humankind, the Temple Builder, replacing the John the Baptist.

LazarusCave

It’s interesting that the Second Logos, Lazarus, ascends from the grave and the Third Logos disappears into the grave, becomes one with the Earth.

JesuCave

The Second Logos takes over, and he becomes the author of the Gospel of John and the Apocalypse of John:

The Gospel should therefore be read as follows:

“Under the Cross stood the mother of Jesus, Sophia.”

To this mother Jesus says:

“Woman, behold thy son.”

He himself had transferred the Sophia that lived within him to the Disciple John; he transformed him into a son of Sophia and said:

     “Behold, thy mother.”

“Henceforth you should recognise the divine wisdom as

your mother and dedicate yourself to her alone.”

John had recorded this divine wisdom; Sophia is embodied in the Gospel of St. John.

Jesus had given him this wisdom, and he was authorized by Christ to transmit it to the world. ~Steiner

The Ichthus and the Infinity Symbol

Saltire Cross or Crux Decussata

A friend of mine mentioned that we had sworn fealty in a previous incarnation by making an x-like cross with our lower arms.

This sounded interesting and I have always been fascinated by the Saint Andrews Cross, also called Cross Decussata or the Saltire Cross. X is the 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet, Chi.

But I have never looked into the Andrews cross, I needed the inspiration, but now the leads came from everywhere, the puzzle pieces found each other.

Chi Rho

It’s known all over the world, and it’s a central symbol for the development on Earth, for God, Adam Kadmon, Christ, the Mother and Father, for the two powers, form and idea, and in their crossing point life appears.

With some inspiration I understood it was the cross in the fish symbol, the ichthus, and I understood that the ichthus symbol was showing the first half of the Earth period, from creation to the death of Jesus in the physical world and resurrection of Christ in our inner.

ichthus2

That again moved on to the next understanding, that the infinity symbol showed the full development on Earth, from Alfa to Omega.

lemniscate

The Ichthus

All creation takes place by the One becoming Two. After Pralaya, the cosmic night, comes the Manvantara, the cosmic day of manifestation. In the manifestation separates the conscious from the unconscious, and in the focus point between darkness and light new consciousness develops out of the darkness. See Esoteric History of Man.

The darkness is developed as a vehicle for the new to be developed, and the new soul seed is prepared to enter the vehicle. In the center of the æon, when the vehicle is ready, the universe turns inside out, the light from being outside the vehicle becomes the inside.

The gods dies in the outer world and resurrects in our inner, creating a new cosmos leaving the old to die.

And-the-Word-was-a-God

The Infinity Symbol

And all creation ends by the Two becoming One, we enter Pralaya again. At the end of the development phase humanity raises together with Maitreya Buddha.

Infinity Symbol – Lemniscate

It’s interesting that alpha  matches the form of the ichthus and the likeness between omega and the lemniscate is just as interesting, omega symbolizes the full development.

My friend made me aware that it looked like eyes and I thought about the Eye of Horus: eye-of-horus3.

The symbol for Taurus, the bull, is also much like the ichthus or left part of the lemniscate: originaltaurus.

From Aleph to Tav

Lets look at the Hebrew letters for alpha and omega, aleph and tav.

From aleph

      to tav.

Aleph in its oldest forms shows the head of a Bull, the first more naturalistic and the second more stylistic, but both forms are in the likeness of the ichthus. Tav in it’s oldest forms are like the crossing.

aleph-tav2 aleph-tav

Here we have the history of Aleph and our A:

Aleph6

Bull, Lion and Eagle

We have three periods, the period of the Bull, the time of Shiva and Lucifer, the teachers of humanity. Then follows the period of the Lion, the time of Krishna, Christ and Horus, leading toward the first real initiation of a human, or rather two. Then follows the future period of the Eagle, the time of Christian Rosenkreutz or Maitreya Buddha, humanity have now become their own teachers.

Alfa as a Bull and Omega as an Eagle, the omega have even two wings, man gets wings. The central transition as a Lion, the X, the heart and soul of humanity.

lemniscate3

The time of the Bull prepared mans physical body as bearer of an I, and the I entered man in the period of the Lion, and the period of the Eagle should make man a spiritual being, but the pioneers of humanity are already working on it here and now.

Shiva – Creator and Destroyer

Shiva

The Earth evolution started within the existing universe, with center in the sun, and the planet Earth was constructed as a crucible where the seed for the new universe was placed.

Shiva, the Luciferic powers, were the creators of the old universe; together with Brahma and Vishnu they were the old universe. See also The Origin of Lucifer – Shiva.

In the crucible the new began to take form, Krishna, the transformed Lucifer, became stronger and stronger and the old Lucifer, Shiva became smaller and smaller, through the development of man.

When the new universe was developed far enough, the transformed gods died in the old universe, and they resurrected/incarnated into the new universe, from being outside the physical body of man, they became soul and spirit in man, what we see outside is the dead body of the gods, the new universe is inside man.

From Wikipedia:

At the highest level, Shiva is regarded as limitless, transcendent, unchanging and formless. Shiva also has many benevolent and fearsome forms.

In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash, as well as a householder with wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya, and in fierce aspects, he is often depicted slaying demons. Shiva is also regarded as the patron god of yoga and arts.

The main iconographical attributes of Shiva are the third eye on his forehead, the snake Vasuki around his neck, the adorning crescent moon, the holy river Ganga flowing from his matted hair, the trishula as his weapon and the damaru as his musical instrument. Shiva is usually worshiped in the aniconic form of Lingam.

According to Wendy Doniger, the Puranic Shiva is a continuation of the Vedic Indra. Doniger gives several reasons for her hypothesis. Both are associated with mountains, rivers, male fertility, fierceness, fearlessness, warfare, transgression of established mores, the Aum sound, the Supreme Self. In the Rig Veda the term śiva is used to refer to Indra.  Indra, like Shiva, is likened to a bull.

Nandī, also known as “Nandin”, is the name of the bull that serves as Shiva’s mount. Shiva’s association with cattle is reflected in his name Paśupati, or Pashupati, translated by Sharma as “lord of cattle” and by Kramrisch as “lord of animals”, who notes that it is particularly used as an epithet of Rudra. “Rishabha” or the bull represents Dharma Devata (lord). Lord Siva rides on the bull. This denotes that Lord Siva is the protector of Dharma, is an embodiment of Dharma or righteousness.

All this is happening in the period of the bull, the symbol connected with both Lucifer and Shiva.

Shiva and Brahma

shiva-poster-KJ59_l

Shiva

Brahma creates order in the world through rules, are the world, where Shiva brings the ideas for the creation, but to create new, the old rules of Brahma must be destroyed, so Shiva destroy to make room for new ideas.

From AnthroWiki

Through time these ideas are implemented as rules by Brahma, and then they become a straightjacket for evolution through decay. We know also Brahma under the name of Jahve or Sophia, or in its negative aspect as Ahriman.

See Vishnu.

From AnthroWiki

Shiva Lingam

The Shiva lingam describes the world, Shiva [Yang or Lucifer] is the etheric world, Brahma [Yin or Ahriman] is the physical world and Vishnu [TAO of Son of God] is man, in the middle between the two.
Shiva-Lingam2

It’s also a representation of Axis Mundi, the world pillar or world tree.

The three powers in Hegelian view

If we see it from a Hegelian view, Shiva is the Thesis, Brahma is the Antithesis and Vishnu is the Synthesis:

Shakti

Shakti represents the physical world, and Shiva manifest through her, he needs the physical world to create.

ShivaDeviShiva forms a Tantric couple with Shakti, the embodiment of energy, dynamism, and the motivating force behind all action and existence in the material universe.

Shiva is her transcendent masculine aspect of Shakti, providing the divine ground of all being.

Shakti manifests in several female deities. Sati and Parvati are the main consorts of Shiva. She is also referred to as Uma, Durga (Parvati,) Kali and Chandika.

Kali is the manifestation of Shakti in her dreadful aspect. The name Kali comes from kāla, which means black, time, death, lord of death, Shiva. Since Shiva is called Kāla, the eternal time, Kālī, his consort, also means “Time” or “Death” (as in “time has come”). Various Shakta Hindu cosmologies, as well as Shākta Tantric beliefs, worship her as the ultimate reality or Brahman. She is also revered as Bhavatārini (literally “redeemer of the universe”). Kālī is represented as the consort of Lord Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing or dancing.

Shiva is the masculine force, the power of peace, while Shakti translates to power, and is considered as the feminine force. In the Vaishnava tradition, these realities are portrayed as Vishnu and Laxmi, or Radha and Krishna. These are differences in formulation rather than a fundamental difference in the principles.

Both Shiva and Shakti have various forms. Shiva has forms like Yogi Raj (the common image of Himself meditating in the Himalayas), Rudra (a wrathful form) and Nataraj (Shiva’s dance are the Lasya – the gentle form of dance, associated with the creation of the world, and the Tandava – the violent and dangerous dance, associated with the destruction of weary world views – weary perspectives and lifestyles).

The female forms are all aspects of the physical world.

The five mantras

Shiva is defined as the etheric world, and consists of five sub planes, where the physical is the fifth and lowest:

Five is a sacred number for Shiva. One of his most important mantras has five syllables (namaḥ śivāya).

Shiva’s body is said to consist of five mantras, called the pañcabrahmans. As forms of God, each of these have their own names and distinct iconography:

  • Sadyojāta
  • Vāmadeva
  • Aghora
  • Tatpuruṣa
  • Īsāna

These are represented as the five faces of Shiva and are associated with the five elements, the five senses, the five organs of perception, and the five organs of action.

Shiva and Krishna

Shiva is the etheric world as it was at the beginning of the Earth development, the untransformed Lucifer, where Krishna is the transformed etheric world, the transformed Lucifer.

Shiva is the ideas behind materialism, his followers are physically rich, where Krishna have the inner richness, and his followers are poor in materialistic goods, Krishna introduces Love and Joy into humanity, we shouldn’t work in blood, sweat and tears any longer.

Our etheric body consists of two kinds, the karmic beings that are not yet transformed, our karma, and the beings that we have transformed through understanding, the first is Shiva the last ist Krishna, the first is materialistic the second is spiritual.

When we have transformed most of our karma we can create an etheric body fully out of our own transformed ether, out etheric body is part of Krishna, who are the sum of the humanity’s etheric bodies.

The Origin of Lucifer – Shiva

Lucifer is one of the more mythic beings, clouded in mystery, but I read a beautiful description by Rudolf Steiner on the origin of Lucifer:

“We find the Sun still as a planet among the seven planets, we find Venus with Lucifer as her ruler [Christ is the ruler of Sun]; and these two, the Sun Spirit and the Venus Spirit – in other words Christ and Lucifer – appear at first sight like brothers. Only by straining to the utmost our powers of perception are we to mark out the difference between them.

……..

Lucifer“Lucifer, the ruler of Venus, appears in a form that is extraordinarily full of light … spiritual light. We have the feeling that all the glow and brilliance we can ever experience on Earth…is weak and dim in comparison to the majesty of Lucifer in the old Sun time. But then we notice, when we begin to perceive his intentions…that Lucifer is a being endowed in his very nature with infinite pride.

……….

“Lucifer’s proud greatness, Lucifer’s pride in his majestic figure of light …”Unmanifest light,” light that does not shine outwardly, but has immense strong power in itself – that Lucifer has in full measure … The Christ figure in the time of old Sun – the Lord and ruler of the Sun planet – is a picture of utmost devotion, entire devotion to all that is around Him in the world. Whereas Lucifer looks as one who thinks only of himself – we are obliged to cloth it all in human words, notwithstanding the fact that they are quite inadequate – Christ appears as wholly given up, in devotion, to all that is around Him in the great world.”

……..

These [the starsigns of the Zodiac] were not then externally visible; but instead, twelve great Forms, twelve Beings were present who let their words ring forth from the depths of the darkness, … they were words that told of primeval times, of times that even then were in a remote and ancient past.

The twelve were twelve World-Initiators [Logoi]. Today we behold standing in the directions of these twelve World-Initiators the twelve Signs of the Zodiac, but from them resounds, for the soul that is open to the whole world, the original being of the Unspoken Word of Worlds, that could take form in the twelve Voices.

And whilst Lucifer alone — I must now begin to speak more in pictures; human words do not in the least suffice — whilst Lucifer had the impulse to let stream out upon all things the light that was present in him and therewith come to a knowledge of all things, the Christ on the other hand, gave Himself up to the Impression of this Word of the Worlds, received It in its fulness and entirety into Himself, so that this Christ Soul was now the Being that united in Himself all the great Secrets of the World that sounded into Him through the inexpressible Word.

Such is the contrast that presents itself, — the Christ Who receives the Word of the Worlds [AdamKadmon], and the proud Lucifer, the Spirit of Venus, who rejects the Word of the Worlds and wants to found and establish everything with his own light [outside Adam Kadmon].

(“Man in the Light of Theosophy, Philosophy, and Occultism”, Rudolf Steiner Press, 1964, lectures 8, 10)

This description is one of the more profound esoteric statements, it contains information that joins many other texts to a whole, and opens up for the understanding of the fall.

The above took place two æons back in time, a period called old Sun in esoteric parlance, see also Esoteric History of Man

Shiva as Lucifer

The previous text describes in reality Shiva, every place the name Lucifer is written there could as well have stood Shiva.

Steiner continues:

Every religion has to be referred back to a founder who through this religion made known to a group of people, in a manner suited to their capacity, some experience belonging to a particular stage of initiation.

You have for instance the religion which is not able to rise to the Christ, the Spirit of the Sun, but is peculiarly adapted to rise to the great and far-reaching soul that lived in the being who was many times incarnated as a Bodhisattva — a religion that looks up in worship to him who is the great Initiator, the great Inspirer, of the Buddha [Shiva, Lucifer].

Shiva

This illustrates nicely Lucifer’s posture as he sits between the Archangels

This religion is not able to ascend to a vision of how the Christ is the Sun Spirit and has descended to Earth.

It sees only as far as to the one who is sent as a messenger; it gathers together, as it were, for its content that which goes forth from the Sun and becomes a planetary spirit.

And we can well understand that Buddha is regarded as a planetary spirit.

Such a religion, that lifts men’s thoughts to the Spirit who guides the evolution of the Buddha, could only grasp a figure like the figure of Vishnu in the Indian Trimurti.

Moreover, since a religion of this kind has not yet come through to the knowledge of the universal victory of Christ over Lucifer, neither is it able to place the figure of Lucifer in such relation to the Christ as we can today.

To the followers of such a religion Lucifer seems to be standing beside the Christ as an independent figure, — His equal, unsubdued. We have seen how Lucifer is given the place of a kind of brother. This is what you have when Shiva confronts Vishnu [Christ]. Look into the religion of Shiva, study it carefully; and you will follow me when I say that the Shiva religion of India can be understood when one has knowledge of the Lucifer Being. For Shiva is in reality Lucifer in the form in which he is not yet overcome.

(“Man in the Light of Theosophy, Philosophy, and Occultism”, Rudolf Steiner Press, 1964, lectures 8, 10)

Here Shiva is Lucifer as he entered the Earth development, he represent the angelic hierarchy, as it was when our development started on Earth, and he represents our etheric body before we began working on it.

Shiva represents our situation after we left Paradise, the etheric world, and entered the physical world, he represent tedious work in blood, sweat and tears, our way down into the physical.

See also Shiva and the Origin of the Earth

Vishnu represent Christ, but yet not very visible on Earth, Shiva was the absolute power, longer could man, at that time, not reach up into the spiritual worlds. Vishnu or Christ incarnates in etheric form as Krishna. Krishna shows his superiority over Shiva through many symbols, including his victory over the demon bull.

Steiner writes this on the relation between Lucifer and Christ:

We learn how Christ already on the old Moon overcame Lucifer, and in the scene that is given us in the Gospels we have to see, as it were, a recurrence of the fact that Christ attained to victory over Lucifer.

On Earth Christ repels Lucifer from the outset. This is because on the Moon, when He was Himself less highly evolved — for Christ also undergoes evolution — He had repelled, through the uttermost devotion of His Being to Highest Powers, all the attacks of Lucifer which at that time still meant something to Him.

Already on old Moon Lucifer approached Christ. On Earth he was no longer dangerous to Him: on Earth Christ repels Lucifer at once. On the Moon, however, Christ had to exert all the forces at His disposal in order to repel Lucifer. This is then the added experience that comes to us when we cast back the gaze of higher consciousness into the remote time of Moon.

(“Man in the Light of Theosophy, Philosophy, and Occultism”, Rudolf Steiner Press, 1964, lectures 8, 10)

The fight between Lucifer and Christ, on the Old Moon, is described in the story about the Fight between Vishnu and Shiva. It’s of course described differently from the Vishnu and Shiva tradition. Here Vishnu only barely win over Shiva, as described with Christ and Lucifer.

Krishna-Vs-Shiva

On Earth the fight between Christ and Lucifer is described in the fight between Krishna and Shiva, where Krishna win without any problems.

Creation of the Sun System and the Zodiac

The World Egg is the most universal symbol we have, and the Zodiac is the most developed form of it, but we find it  everywhere in all cultures, we just don’t recognize it as representing the world egg.

The Orphic Egg

See also this album: The World Egg and the Zodiac

We can find the history of the zodiac in the four heavenly beasts, Eagle, Lion, Ox and Man; they were the first members of the Zodiac, first later came the Cardinal signs, and later again the mutable, they came when man began developing these qualities, just as the outher planets first became visible when they became influential.

Amma created the egg, what became our sun system, not the whole universe. Within his egg, Amma began spinning around, forming the po seed. The po is the smallest invisible seed at the center.

Amma then placed seven ‘words’ [Planets] in the po, which began to vibrate strongly within the seed. The spiraling vibrations caused four clavicles to grow forth from the po.

These were the four heavenly beasts, the fixed star signs. These four powers were the main factors in developing the sentient soul, Eros of Plato, or Tamas of Hinduism.

These four Androgyne beings split into four male and four female, so we now had the cardinal and fixed star signs. The cardinal powers were necessary for developing the intellectual soul, or Logos of Plato, or Rajas of Hinduism.

The Dogon call these beings the Nommo Anagonno, ‘The Word (Nommo) that Became Fish-Man’ (Anagonno). The male and females got a son, and the mutable star signs was created. The mutable signs were necessary for developing the conscious soul, Thumos of Plato, or Sattva of Hinduism.

The Nommo entered the world through the place on the sky where Sirius is placed. They were the teachers of mankind, the Angels. They are also associated with the moon.

This Zodiac are fields going from the circumference around the sun system into the system, not just radiation, and not from the large universe, this is called the Tropical Zodiac.

Tropical Zodiac

The Egg, the Zodiac are spiraling through the universe so it’s changing position in relation to the stars, but the fields are constant in relation to the Sun system, to the vernal equinox:

Sun-system passing through the universe

It can also be seen in this fashion:

Sun system through the universe

Man is created in the likeness of God, here in embryonic form, folding itself out from the circular form:

Man Embryonic form

We are not a copy of the whole universe, we are a copy of our own sun system, not including far sun systems.

Auric form of man:

The Auric Egg

Lucifer gives visions. One has to break through them, otherwise one doesn’t break through the shell that’s around every man and covers the real spiritual world. Visions and voices are around us like the shell around a chick. One might see an angel in a vision and when one presses through the vision the angel will change into a snake, Lucifer’s symbol, for at the Temptation he appeared as a snake. Or one might see the colour blue in one’s meditation — if one breaks through it the blue can become red, and then it turns out that we saw our own passions. As a result of his temptation by Lucifer man doesn’t have everything that the Gods have; he received knowledge, but not life. Thereby everything that we know and perceive is permeated by Lucifer and Ahriman. … An ordinary man is like the chick that would consider its shell to be the real world. If the chick could see, it would see the egg’s contents as if it were the whole world. Likewise we see our eggshell or aura spread out around us as the blue dome of the heavens. If we break through our shell the sun and moon become darkened, the stars fall down onto the earth and the spiritual world spreads out in its place.

A man lives in his eggshell — his aura. The Elohim gave us our aura, and through the fall into sin it has become like a shell around us, and we’re in it like a chick in an egg. The stars in the heavens are our boundary and we must break through it with our soul force, just as a chick must break out of its shell through its own power. Then we get into a new world, just as a chick has a new world before it when it has crept out of the egg. And since men all have the same eggshell around them an astronomy could arise that lets the heavenly bodies move along the celestial dome. The egg shell is the Ex Deo nascimur. To break through it and to bring something with us into the spiritual world we must bring what penetrates the shell from the outer spiritual world and that’s common to all; and that’s the Christ. That’s why we say: In Christo morimur and hope that when we’ve broken through the shell we will be awakened again: Per Spiritum Sanctum reviviscimus. Esoteric Lessons Part III

Formed as the world egg:

Mithras

Wael Al-Mahdi have made an analysis of the fight between Mittras and the bull, which have it’s like in the Gilgamesh epic. Today we have our mental focus in the Ego, the Intellectual soul or left brain hemisphere, but then our mental focus was in what we today call our subconsciousness, the Sentient soul or Limbic brain. This fight describes the change of focus from the sentient soul to our current ego, but it’s an ongoing fight between our ego and the subconsciousness, or rather it’s a fight between our superconsciousness and subconscioussness and the battleground is the ego. Wael Al-Mahdi writes that Mithras is the devine ego, but I see him as the ego, the lower I, where I see his father, the mighty Sol Invictus, as the higher I.

Let us now take a look at the symbolism of the Mithraic mysteries and try to make some sense of them. Mithras himself, in the manner of all epoch-making developments of the unconscious, appears suddenly and unexpectedly, from a rock. Here Mithras takes on the role of the divine ego – the ego of the average man transfigured and lifted up by energy from the unconscious harnessed through myth and ritual. In this Mithras is strong, solid, rocklike. The divine ego and the everyday ego (the one that worries about food, shelter, money etc) are not identical; the divine ego, despite its disctinctness but in keeping with unconscious manifestations, is foreign, in this instance, of exotic Persian origin. To symbolize freedom from the unconscious as enemy, and also the actual emancipation of freedman Mithraists, Mithras dons a Phrygian cap, the so-called liberty cap. With the rise of Mithras, miracles are performed, as he strikes a solid rock with the thunder of consciousness and live-giving water spouts from the rock. Here the dead and inanimate can produce life, just as a psychological impasse can give rise to a new lease on life; the Qur’an states of God, “He brings the living out of the dead, and the dead of the living.”

The central and most striking image of Mithraism is the tauroctony – the slaying of the bull. This supreme act of defiance, even hybris, is depicted on subterranean murals in Mithraea from Britain to Rome to Syria. The bull in his power and animal intransigence is the unconscious as enemy. He is the personification, or rather theriomorphization, of all the alien powers that ailed the forward looking man of action. He is the heaviness of the heart at dawn, he is the tightness of the chest before a dangerous act. He gives rise to the autonomous moods of self-doubt and self-loathing. He is boredom, lack of meaning, existential ennui. He represents every social disappointment, lack of control, failure to follow custom, and most dangerously, lack of adaptation. The evil father, father as a depressant, is in the bull – as is the evil friend, the devil, who both attacks the ego and forces to do evil. Every worthless feeling of the ego is projected onto him – and he is indeed a fitting target of projection. In short, he is the great No to life. He is the enemy within that must be vanquished if the conscious ego is to grow.

In contrast to conciliation myths, in which the ego tries to make peace with the unconscious, here the ego strikes with its readiest weapon – its will. After a long chase and a difficult haul to the womb-cave where a transformation can occur, Mithras’ right hand performs the unspeakable act of stabbing the bull’s neck. The cave serves a dual purpose are both regenerative womb and the unconscious cosmos which parallels the real cosmos. But there is respect in Mithras – out of respect, he pulls the animal back by the nostrils, never by the horn. Mithras’ face is serene, almost sublime – divinely devoid of emotion, Zen in his imperturbability – looking up towards his father, the mighty Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun, as if saying, “Behold my most brazen act, father. Soon we are to become equals” Mithras is steadfast, unflinching – he takes full responsibility for his act, he never hesitates or backs down. As a result of Mithras’ challenging of the evil-animal father archetype, Father Sun emerges in a more human guise but with his divinity still intact.

In some reliefs the sacred bull bleeds wheat or grapes, symbolizing the paradox of the ability of the unconscious, even at is most evil, to heal after it harms. The killing of the bull is not a real-world death but an unconscious event that breathes life into a new psychological energy and outlook. But Mithras, this self-overcoming hero, is not alone in his daring act. Like all good heroes he has his sidekicks, the torchbearers, Cautes with his torch pointing up and Cautopates with his torch pointing down. They are his awareness of opposites, his ability to make distinctions, to discern opposites, and in their astral aspect symbolize his heavenly outlook. There is his dog too, lapping up the bull’s blood – his discipline, self-control, honed intellect, and the vital ability of self-obedience. On the scene is a serpent of wisdom and shrewdness, also drinking the life giving blood, for no quantum is wasted here. A sneaky scorpion sucks the ‘vim’ out of the bull’s genitals, literally ‘breaking his balls’ – energy that can be better utilized by the conscious hero Mithras. Mithraism and the Unconscious as Enemy

More on the Tropical vs. Sidereal Zodiac(Bruce Scofield):

We all know that this astrological system (Vedic) uses one or another version of the sidereal zodiac, the slight differences between them being measured by what is called the ayanamsha, the gap between the tropical and sidereal zodiac.

The twelve sidereal-based zodiacal signs (rasis) used in this system are not particularly important overall, and they serve more as a background reference plane for planets than as a matrix for personality distinctions.

The houses are important, however, but house boundaries between planets will remain roughly constant in a timed birth chart no matter which zodiac is employed. After reading a number of texts on the subject it became apparent to me that Hindu astrology was a tradition that was not concerned with extracting psychological insights from birth charts, it was more event-oriented.

and

In my opinion, Rudhyar remains the most important astrologer of the 20th century. He had something intelligent to say on just about every issue in astrology, including the sidereal-tropical problem.

Rudhyar wrote that the sidereal zodiac, the zodiac of constellations, was a product of the myth-making faculty of the human psyche. These constellations, groupings of stars, are a remnant of an earlier age that saw the rise of agriculture, but they are not relevant to modern life.

He felt it was unfortunate that both zodiacs use the same names for their 12-fold division of the yearly circle, and he regarded the tropical zodiac as being the proper framework on which to assess the evolution of mankind.

Distance to the Stars of the Signs

The star signs are purely symbolic, giving name to the star signs because they were at the particular part of the zodiac when the twelve 30° degrees parts of the ecliptic was named.

The stars in the signs are nowhere near each other, they may even not exist anymore, they are placed long from each other in the far past of the universe.

Distances to the Stars of Gemini

History of Tropical Zodiac

The classical zodiac was introduced in the neo-Babylonian period (ca. 7th to 6th century BC). At the time, the precession of the equinoxes had not been discovered. Classical Hellenistic astrology consequently developed without consideration of the effects of precession.

The discovery of the precession of the equinoxes is attributed to Hipparchus, a Greek astronomer active in the later Hellenistic period (ca. 130 BCE).

Ptolemy, writing some 250 years after Hipparchus, was thus aware of the effects of precession. He opted for a definition of the zodiac based on the point of vernal equinox, i.e. the tropical system.

While Ptolemy noted that Ophiuchus is in contact with the ecliptic, he was aware that the twelve signs were just conventional names for 30 degrees segments (especially since the Aries sign had ceased to be in contact with the Aries constellation already in his time). Wikipedia

He connected the thirty degree segments to the time of year, with the traditional names given.

Po Tolo (Sirius B) the oldest of stars, it’s name means ‘deep beginning’. The Dogon consider Po Tolo the reservoir and source of all things in this realm, and the germ of creation for our Solar System. It ejected it’s essence out into creation, and the particles of it’s essence was ‘infinitely small’.

The Holy Nights of Christmas

The twelve holy nights before Christmas

This symbolizes the development of man from the creation and until the birth of Christ, when man had descended the deepest into the physical world. This period is called Mars in esoteric language.

It’s about the lower Abyss, the lesser Chemical Wedding, the union of soul and body. This is old European folk tradition and Rosicrucian esoteric knowledge.

The night after the 24’th is the birth of the Son of Man, Jesus, when we were the deepest into the physical, and he showed the way up of the Abyss.

The twelve holy nights after Christmas

This symbolizes the ascent of man from the deepest penetration into the physical world, from being mastered by the physical he now becomes master of the physical. This period is called Mercury in esoteric language.

It’s about the higher Abyss, the greater Chemical Wedding, the union of soul and spirit.

The night after the fifth is the birth of the Son of God, Christ, the Baptism of Jesus. The thought seeds is taken from here: De 12 hellige nætter. They are only a hint for contemplation, they are not mandatory and I may find some that are more relevant.

Good and Evil, Sin and Karma

Good is Love, and Evil is lack of Love, and Love is Christ (Son of God in the hexagram).

Love is the equilibrium of the Father and the Mother, and lack of Love is when we are out of equilibrium, that is, either the Father or the Mother are dominating. On Earth this condition is called evil, or to be precise, Lucifer and Ahriman (Satan, Mammon, …) to show what dominates.

ahrimanlucifer

Sinning creates karma, karma and sin is the same, and you sin when you do something you know is evil/wrong, so a cannibal living in a cannibalistic tribe didn’t create karma because of cannibalism, before the christian priests came and told him it was sinful to kill. This is also one of the reasons why children don’t create karma, they don’t yet know what is right or wrong.

Remember, karma helps us to grow, it’s our memory from life to life.

A Rosicrucian once said: “We are on this Earth to sin, so sin, until you is tired of it, then stop, don’t continue as per habit.”. Or, in other words: It’s OK to fall, but not to stay down.

Those who don’t live because they are afraid to Sin don’t learn, they don’t create the necessary equilibrium between Chaos and Order, Feelings and Thinking, giving Love, Wisdom, and Will.

Free Will ?

We share karma with a lot of people, and to work with our karma we have to meet these people, so we can’t run around freely following our whims, we need a path through life leading us to those we share our fate with, dharma, the wisdom of our life.

JesusPeterSea

Karma is the sea where we are sailing in our ship, dharma is the wind blowing us from one karmic relation to the next. How we handle our karma is our obligation and here we have free will, but the path we follow between the people we have to meet is handled by our higher I, prepared while we sleep.

Esoteric Aspects of the Isis figure

Esoteric Aspects of the Isis figure

The following texts relates the Isis figure to the Soul. The three Mothers of the soul, as described in “Isis and Madonna” are the Sentient soul (Orektikon), the Intellectual soul (Kinetikon), and the Consciousness soul (Dianoetikon) as seen here.

Isis with Wings

Isis and Madonna :

… Therefore in the true sense of spiritual science we do not speak only of one Mother but of the Mothers, realizing that what we have today as the physical Mother is the last development of the soul-spiritual figure out of the spiritual realm. Crux Ansata There are in fact images of Isis representing not one Mother but Mothers, three Mothers. In front we have a figure, Isis with the Horus child at her breast, resembling the oldest representations of the Madonna. But behind this figure in certain Egyptian representations we have another figure, an Isis, bearing on her head the two familiar cow horns and the wings of the hawk, offering the “Crux Ansata”  (Ankh) to the child. We see that what is physical, human, in the foremost figure is here more spiritualized. Behind there is yet a third figure, bearing a lion’s head and representing the third stage of the human soul. This is how these three Isis figures appear, one behind the other. It is an actual fact that our human soul bears in it three natures — a will nature, found in the inmost depths of the being, a feeling nature and a wisdom nature. These are the three soul Mothers; we meet them in the three figures of the Egyptian Isis.

Isis:

“I am the All; I am the Past, the Present and the Future. My Veil has no Mortal ever lifted.”

Or

“I AM, which is, and which was, and which is to come my veil no mortal can raise.”

The Widows Son :

The soul was always known as the “mother” in all esoteric (mystical) teachings; the instructor was the “father.” Father and mother, Osiris and Isis, those are the two forces present in the soul: the instructor, representing the divine which flows directly into man, Osiris, he that is the father; the soul itself, Isis, the one who conceives, receives the divine, the spiritual into itself, she is the mother. During the fifth Root Race the father withdraws. The soul is widowed. Humanity is thrown back onto itself. It must find the light of truth within its own soul in order to act as its own guide. Everything of a soul nature has always been expressed in terms of the feminine. Therefore the feminine element—which exists only in a germinal state today and will later be fully developed—this self-directing feminine principle which is no longer confronted by the divine fructifier, is called by Mani the “Widow.” And therefore he calls himself “Son of the Widow.”

Search for the New Isis, the Divine Sophia :

But the Isis legend must show itself as being fulfilled in another way in our time. We cannot lose the Christ and what he, in a higher form than Osiris, gives us; but we can lose, and we have lost, what is portrayed for our Christian understanding standing at the side of Osiris — Isis — the mother of the Saviour, the divine wisdom, Sophia. If the Isis legend is to be renewed, then it must not simply follow the old form

Oh, the soul will attain to altogether new feelings if it feels committed to experience the new Isis legend within modern humanity. Lucifer kills Isis and then places her body into the infinity of space, which has become the grave of Isis, a mathematical abstraction. Then comes the search for Isis, and her discovery, made possible through the inner force of spiritual knowledge.

Just as the Egyptians looked from Osiris to Isis, so we must learn to look again to the new Isis, the holy Sophia. Christ will appear again in his spiritual form during the course of the twentieth century, not through the arrival of external events alone, but because human beings find the power represented by the holy Sophia. The modern age has had the tendency to lose this power of Isis, this power of Mary. It has been killed by all that arose with the modern consciousness of humankind. And the confessions have in part exterminated just this view of Mary.

Isis

Isis and the Soul:

Isis, when she is purified and has laid aside all that she has received from the physical, is impregnated from the spiritual world and gives birth to Horus, the higher man, who is to be victorious over the lower human being. Thus we see Isis as the representative of the human soul, as that in us which as the divine spiritual is born of the universal Father and has remained within us, seeking Osiris and only finding him through initiation or death. By conjuring this Osiris and Isis saga in a picture before our soul we are looking into the realm that lies behind the physical world of the senses, into a time when man was still among the Mothers, the primordial grounds of existence, when Isis was not yet enclosed in the physical body but still united in the golden age with her spouse Osiris.

Anthropos and Sophia

Christ and Maria flanked by the Esoteric Christianity represented by Sct. John, and Exoteric Christianity, represented by the Church.

Maria and ChristMadonna and Child (or The Ansidei Altarpiece) painted by Raphael.

In the center column of this picture by Raphael we have Christ as the Son of Man, known as Anthropos the second Adam, and Maria also known as Sophia. Together they are known as Anthroposophia by the Anthroposophists.

They follow here the setup of the Kabbalah Tree of Life, Where the Exoteric Christianity is placed to the Right representing Sct. Peter and Salomon, and Esoteric Christianity are placed to the Left representing Sct. John, and Hiram Abiff the builder of Salomon’s Temple, and Christian Rosencreutz. Se The Temple Legend and The Masonic Legend for the legends behind Rosicrucianism and Masonry.

When Christ Gave John and Peter their Missions

Jesus Speaks with Peter

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”

Peter said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”

Jesus told him, “Feed my lambs.”

Then he asked him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”

Peter said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”

Jesus told him, “Take care of my sheep.”

He asked him a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was deeply hurt that he had asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” So he said to him, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you!”

Jesus told him, “Feed my sheep. Truly, I tell you with certainty, when you were young, you would fasten your belt and go wherever you liked. But when you get old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten your belt and take you where you don’t want to go.” Now he said this to show by what kind of death he would glorify God.

After saying this, Jesus told him, “Keep following me.”

Jesus and the Beloved Disciple

Peter turned around and noticed the disciple whom Jesus kept loving following them. He was the one who had put his head on Jesus’ chest at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”

When Peter saw him, he said, “Lord, what about him?”

Jesus said to him, “If it is my will for him to remain until I come back, how does that concern you? You must keep following me!” So the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple wasn’t going to die. Yet Jesus didn’t say to Peter that he wasn’t going to die, but, “If it is my will for him to remain until I come back, how does that concern you?”

What it meant was that John would die physically, but not mentally, when he incarnated again he would remember, from life to life, who he was. Text taken from International Standard Version.

The Three Crosses of Golgotha

The three crosses on Golgotha is a significant scene in the New Testament. It signifies the main powers in the development of the Earth, as described in the The Tree of Life from the Kabbalah.

When only the cross with Christ is shown, we see only a small part of the mystery, as the crucifixion contains a trinity.

Edvard Munch - GolgothaEdvard Munch – Golgotha

As Rudolf Steiner is one of the primary Christian esoteric teachers I have taken the following texts from Christ and the Human Soul:

Christ on the Cross between the two malefactors. The malefactor on the left hand mocks at Christ: “If thou wilt be God, help thyself and us!” The malefactor on the right says that the other ought not to speak thus, for both had merited their fate of crucifixion, the just award of their deeds; whereas He was innocent and yet had to experience the same fate. And the malefactor on the right went on to say: “Think of me when thou art in thy kingdom.” And Christ answered him: “Verily I say unto thee, today thou shalt be with me in Paradise.”

The Cross to the left, representing Ahriman, is the Pillar of Severity or Form, the right Cross, representing Lucifer, is the Pillar of Mercy or Force, and the Middle Cross, Christ, is The Pillar of Mildness or Consciousness.

If one begins to consider the matter in a human-anthropomorphic sense and simply makes of Lucifer a kind of inner and Ahriman a kind of outer criminal, there will be difficulty in getting on; for we must not forget that Lucifer, besides being the bringer of evil into the world, the inner evil that arises through the passions, is also the bringer of freedom. Lucifer plays an important role in the universe, and so does Ahriman.

They are not Evil as such, but they are part of the development of Man, and of other spirits just above and below us.

…, I laid particular emphasis on the fact that the progressive gods have assigned to Lucifer and Ahriman roles in the spiritual world; and that discrepancy and disharmony appear only when they bring down their activities into the physical plane and arrogate to themselves rights which are not allotted to them.

Through our fight against these two powers we grow, and we reach Equilibrium, Tao.

Now the root of the whole matter, which must again and again be emphasized, is that the Christ, as Christ, does not belong with the other beings of the physical plane. From the moment of the Baptism in the Jordan, a Being who had not previously existed on Earth, a Being who does not belong to the order of Earth-beings, entered into the corporeality of Jesus of Nazareth. Thus in Christ we are concerned with a Being who could truly say to the disciples: “I am from above, but ye are from below”, which means: “I am a Being of the kingdom of Heaven, ye are of the kingdom of Earth.”

Christ is the emanation of the Son, the Middle Pillar, the Equilibrium of the Left and Right Pillar.

Heavenly and Earthly Triangles at the Time of Christ

He lived through the whole development cycle of man in one life, purifying all the seven bodies as seen in the Tree of Life. That is also the reason why Christ can not be born again like a Bodhisattva, his body is merged with the Earth. When Christ comes again, its a personal experience for each individual when (s)he is ready and not a collective encountering on a global scale.

Christ introduced Love as the Law above all. A comment by Henry T. Edge in Theosophical Light on the Christian Bible:

This means that there are two laws in our nature — that of instinctual self-gratification, which we share with the beasts, though in man, being allied with intellect, this instinct acquires an evil character; and that of the divine nature. When Jesus or any other Teacher, enjoins the law of Love, the Golden Rule, he simply points out the only rule of conduct which is proper for man, if man is to live in accordance with man’s nature. The fact that these wise teachings seem so ineffectual, so much disregarded, should not cause undue despondency or cynicism. They have remained as a lamp for our feet throughout ages of darkness, and are still recognised as our sheet anchor. Whatever failure there may have been in practice, the principle has been maintained. The doctrine of each for himself was not so long ago proclaimed as an economic panacea; but its disastrous results have become apparent. If there are cynical individuals who try to make a gospel out of self-seeking, they are not happy. The man who worships self exclusively cuts himself off from life and enters a path which, if persisted in, would lead to his being isolated with the object of his worship — a fate awful to contemplate.

The message of Christ was revolutionary at that time, changing the tribe mentality of an eye for an eye with the responsibility of the person, love your next as yourself. It started a new evolution in the mind of man introducing the humanitarian thought in mankind. We are now in the critical phase where we will see if we can keep our human integrity in the egocentric climate of todays materialism.

The Thieves

From Wikipedia

Gestas, also spelled Gesmas, is the apocryphal name  given to one of the two thieves who was crucified alongside Jesus. According to legend, Gestas taunted Jesus about not saving himself, while Dismas asked for mercy. Dismas was saved, and Gestas was not. Gestas was on the cross to the the left of Jesus and Dismas was on the cross to the right of Jesus.

The apocryphal Arabic Infancy Gospel refers to Gestas and Dismas as Dumachus and Titus, respectively. According to tradition, Dumachus was one of a band of robbers who attacked Saint Joseph and the Holy Family on their Flight into Egypt, as recorded in Jacobus de Voragine‘s “Golden Legend“.
